A lot has been written on the Rakesh Sharma biopic titled Saare Jahan Se Achcha, which is yet to finalise its lead actor. The film has undergone several cast changes with Aamir Khan being the first one to be offered the role but he had forwarded the offer to Shah Rukh Khan. After writer Anjum Rajabali confirmed SRK’s exit as well, Uri actor Vicky Kaushal now seems to be next choice for the role.

A report in Bollywood Hungama claims that when Vicky was asked about starring in the Rakesh Sharma biopic, he said that an official announcement of the movie will soon be made and one needs to wait for it.

According to a report in Times Now, writer Anjum Rajabali had recently confirmed Shah Rukh’s exit while talking at the FICCI Frames 2019 “Screenwriters: The Creative Force Powering Indian Cinema’s New Surge” panel discussion. He had said, “If you’re asking me, there was a problem with the script (of Zero). Himanshu (Sharma, the writer) is a very talented person but things go wrong sometimes. I don’t think he said no to Saare Jahan Se Achcha because of the space (angle). I think he’s also pretty shaken up, he was banking a lot on that.”

Vicky is currently basking in the success of Uri: The Surgical Strike and has already signed his next film – the Udham Singh biopic. A source, however, told Bollywood Hungama, “Vicky has both the biopics on Rakesh Sharma and Udham Singh. His schedule didn’t bandwidth for two bio-pics. He finally chose to do Udham Singh and not only because he found the character so fiercely patriotic but because Vicky really wants to work Shoojit Sircar.”
