Arsenal host Rennes at the Emirates Stadium in the second leg of the Europa League round of 16 and have it all to do. They lost 3-1 in the first leg, but as other teams have shown in Champions League this season, it is not an impossible task to overturn a two goal deficit.
Here are three things to look out for in the Arsenal vs Rennes game.
3. Lacazette available
Alexandre Lacazette was initially suspended for three games after he received a straight red in the first leg against BATE Borisov, but UEFA have reduced the sentence to two. The Frenchman will now be available for the game, and manager Unai Emery has the option to play both his strikers from the get go to score the goals the team needs.
2. Rennes will be defensive
It is more than likely that Rennes will be defensive from the start, especially considering that Arsenal were dominant in the first half, until Sokratis was shown the red card. The French team will know that the Gunners will be attacking from the offset in pursuit of the two goals, so they will need to ensure they cut out all avenues.
1. England’s perfect campaign
Six teams entered into European competitions this season, and there is a distinct possibility that all of them will end up in the quarterfinals by the end of the night. With Chelsea more or less confirmed for the next round, it remains to be seen if Arsenal can get the job done and ensure that they are not the only English team to miss out.
