Former Real Madrid and Manchester United star, David Beckham, has refused to give up on trying to bring the best players in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, to his Major League Soccer franchise, Inter Miami.
The former England international’s team is set to play their first competitive match in under a year but has plenty of work to do. Inter Miami still have a stadium to finish, and, most importantly, a team to build.
Having Beckham on board certainly makes things interesting. Thanks to his on and off-field charisma, Beckham shares a good relationship with some of the most decorated footballers on the planet. As per reports, his pull could land some big stars in Miami, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Beckham has admitted that the two superstars are still going strong but has left the rest to imagination saying “you never know what can happen in football.”
“Everyone has their wish list – everyone does!” he told a group of reporters in Miami when speaking of bringing in star names for his MLS side, as quoted by Goal.
“But if you look at the way Leo and Cristiano are still playing, even at what you might think is the later stage of their careers, I don’t see it ending for them.”
“They’re playing at such a high level that it’s hard to see them leaving the clubs they are at. But we will see. You never know what can happen in football,” he concluded.
