Actor Aamir Khan is celebrating his birthday today and took out some time to interact with the media on the occasion. The actor was accompanied by his wife Kiran Rao and held a small cake-cutting ceremony for the media. He also took up their questions and went on to reveal that he wasn’t aware of Kangana Ranaut’s comments against him.
On being asked by Pinkvilla about his reaction to Kangana’s comments that Aamir didn’t support her during the release of her film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, the actor looked surprised and said, “She is upset with me? Why? But she never told me this. I will ask her when I meet her.”
Alia said in an earlier interview, “When Aamir called me for Dangal, Secret Superstar, I went all the way to Ambani’s house. Dangal, for me, was a film about women empowerment. But they don’t have time for any of my trails. I have two-three films coming up, but I don’t expect people to write about them.”
She added, “How do these people become so petty? How do these people look at a film, like for an individual, ‘Arre yaar, iska na kuch ho jaye, main chup baithta hoon!’ How do they do that? How does it even work? For me, this is a revelation that this film, what Rani Laxmibai has done, is this freedom only mine? Doesn’t it belong to anybody else?”
Aamir Khan’s last film Thugs of Hindostan turned out to be a disappointment at the box office. Despite witnessing a record-breaking opening of Rs 50 crore, the film crashed soon after and collected just Rs 151 crore at the domestic box office. Kangana’s Manikarnika managed to sail through and collected Rs 92 crore at the domestic box office.
